It is well known that user-generated content (UGC) promotes community engagement, creativity and long-term player retention. HoYoverse's hugely successful game, Genshin Impact, will also be banking on UGC from 22 October onwards.

The "Lune II" update for Genshin Impact will be released on 22 October, adding user-generated content to this free-to-play open-world adventure RPG. It will thus rely on building systems similar to those in Fortnite's Creative Mode, Roblox and Minecraft. It's called Miliastra Wonderland, and it will premiere with hundreds of stages for players to explore. After completing Act I of the Archon Quest Prologue ("The Outlander Who Caught the Wind"), players can freely explore this world and access a variety of gameplay experiences, including sim management, party games, PvP battles, adventure challenges and more.

HoYoverse: "They can meet new friends or reconnect with other players to enjoy both the thrill of teamwork and competition, or choose to play solo and savor the satisfaction of solving intricate puzzles. Many Stages also feature achievements, ranking systems, and leaderboards, inspiring players to sharpen their skills and pursue new winning strategies. Manekins, as the players' avatars, can be customized to match individual preferences, allowing players to show off their unique styles both in the Wonderland and in Teyvat."

All players can use the Miliastra Sandbox editing tool to design their own stages and experiences, utilising the array of gameplay features and resources built up by Genshin Impact. Users can first edit various components and modules, such as terrains, item components, and character skills. They can then link different elements together with logic flows while configuring various stage types and game modes. "Comprehensive support tools and services will make the creative process smoother and more rewarding, offering official tutorials, a dedicated forum, opportunities for Stage recommendations, and additional incentive programs, etc," the publisher explained.

As well as the UGC system, the update brings back familiar characters such as Varka and Arlecchino, who are joining forces to combat threats in Nod-Krai. Meanwhile, Nefer makes her debut as a playable character, offering new ways to unleash Lunar-Bloom damage.
