Factory-C, the Berlin-based communications agency specialising in gaming and esports events, has started the new year with a new addition to its team. Tom Achsel joined the Home of Indies team this month as Event Communications Manager to support the continued growth of the project. Having previously served as Head of Marketing & Events at Games Academy and as co-founder and Head of Communication at Games Ground Berlin, he brings valuable expertise to Factory-C.

"It's great to have Tom on board. He knows the indie scene from multiple perspectives, brings a strong network, and has a sharp understanding of the needs of indie developers. Both professionally and personally, Tom is an excellent fit for our team and brings everything needed to support the continued development of Home of Indies," says Christiane Gehrke, Senior Event Communication & Sales Manager at Factory-C.

"With Home of Indies, a platform has emerged that provides a strong stage for the indie scene. I'm excited to be part of the team and to contribute actively to Home of Indies' future direction," says Tom Achsel, Event Communications Manager at Factory-C.

Since 2022, Factory-C has provided independent game developers from around the world with a shared booth at gamescom under the 'Home of Indies' banner. Last year, Home of Indies showcased over 50 games from more than a dozen countries across 440 square metres. Preparations for the upcoming gamescom and other events are already underway.
