Many details about the game itself are still unknown. According to Sony Interactive Entertainment and Bad Robot Games, it is a four-player co-op shooter that has not yet been announced in detail and is currently being developed for PC and PS5. Further details are to be revealed at a later date.

Mike Booth, who also worked on Left 4 Dead, has apparently been hired as the project's director. It is unclear whether the project is an adaptation or expansion of a film or series project. Bad Robot Games is the gaming label of JJ Abrams' film and TV production company Bad Robot.

Anna Sweet, CEO of Bad Robot Games, says: "Partnering with Sony Interactive Entertainment allows us to bring our new IP to life, with an expansive vision for this new universe. With the support of PlayStation, we hope to deliver a bold, innovative experience that is truly special for players."

"We’re greatly impressed with the talent Bad Robot Games has assembled at their studio, and are thrilled to partner with them to help produce and publish their upcoming game," adds Christian Svensson, VP and Head of 2P/3P Content Ventures & Strategic Initiatives at Sony Interactive Entertainment. "Their unique creative voice and passion for innovating across all forms of interactive entertainment perfectly aligns with SIE’s mission to craft experiences that resonate deeply with players."

The partnership between Sony Interactive Entertainment and Bad Robot Games also fits in with Sony's overall strategy of linking films and games more closely wherever possible and appropriate. At CES 2025, numerous expansions of game brands into the world of films and series were announced.
