Plaion Replai, Atari and Bandai Namco Entertainment America have announced the release of the Atari 2600+ Pac-Man Edition. This new piece of hardware comes with two Pac-Man games and a branded CX-40 wireless joystick.

Global publisher and developer of retro video game software and hardware Plaion Replai and Atari have announced that the Atari 2600+ Pac-Man Edition will launch worldwide on 31 October 2025. This newly developed version of the classic console celebrates the long-standing collaboration between Atari and Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc., with the latter being the original developer of Pac-Man.

"The Atari 2600+ Pac-Man Edition is more than just a console - it's a tribute to the moment home gaming truly began. By reimagining the iconic hardware in Pac-Man's unmistakable style, we're celebrating the legacy of two cultural giants who helped define a generation of play. We're proud to bring this collaboration to life for collectors, fans, and a whole new wave of retro gaming enthusiasts," said Plaion Replai's Commercial Director, Ben Jones.

This collaboration features the Atari 2600+ Pac-Man Edition, which is the iconic yellow colour of Pac-Man, with illuminated character icons on the front of the console. Designed for retro gaming enthusiasts, the Atari 2600+ is a modern recreation of the classic Atari 2600 console from the 1970s. The retail pack includes the Pac-Man Double Feature software cartridge and a yellow Pac-Man CX-40 wireless joystick. The Pac-Man Double Feature cartridge contains Pac-Man 7800, an arcade-style version of the classic game, as well as Pac-Man 2600, the game's first release on a home console. Pac-Man CX-40+ wireless joysticks are available separately in five colours: Yellow (Pac-Man), Blue (Inky Ghost), Red (Blinky Ghost), Pink (Pinky Ghost) and Orange (Clyde Ghost).

The Atari 2600+ Pac-Man Edition and the Pac-Man CX40+ Wireless Joystick will be available to pre-order from 23 July 2025 on Amazon and Atari.com. They will be priced at €149.99 and €34.99 respectively. These products will be released on 31 October 2025. A separate release of the Pac-Man Double Feature cartridge is also planned for later in 2025.
