The psychology and games podcast team Behind the Screens is consolidating itself into the Behind the Screens UG, offering consulting for game devs and educational institutions about gaming and psychology.

The blog and podcast team of Behind the Screens, consisting of psychologists working with games, have announced the next step of their project in the founding of the Behind the Screens UG (haftungsbeschränkt).

The three psychologists Nicolas Hoberg, Jessica Kathmann and Benjamin Strobel took the step to offer their expertise as consultants for psychology in recommendations for game development and the use of games in education, training and therapy.

"We recognise the growing demand for these topics and are already receiving many enquiries. By founding the company, we want to respond to this and expand our offering. In addition to training courses and workshops, we also offer individual counselling and are committed to psychological topics in games courses at universities." - Dipl.Psych. Nicolas Hoberg, co-founder.

"Psychology offers valuable insights into topics such as mental health, sensitive presentation, accessibility, knowledge transfer with digital games, motivation and attention. With our foundation, we want to bring this knowledge further into the industry." - Jessica Kathmann (psychologist, M.Sc.), co-founder.

"Gaming should be fun for everyone. That's why we stand for diversity, healthy gaming and democratic values in gaming. The industry faces many challenges in these areas, such as computer game addiction, toxic communities and gambling mechanics. We offer our support to institutions and game developers to navigate these issues safely and make gaming even better for everyone." - Dr Dipl.-Psych. Benjamin Strobel, co-founder.

In the past, the three had already been consulting on Blueberry, the current game by Mellow Games from Cologne. The team says their offer is aimed at development studios and institutions from the fields of education, training and health.
