In December 2025, game - the German Games Industry Association honoured seven video games with a game Sales Award for particularly strong sales in Germany. The racing game Mario Kart World, released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 launch in June, reached the milestone of selling over 600,000 copies in Germany, earning it the Multi-Platinum Sales Award.

Assassin's Creed Shadows from Ubisoft and Pokémon Legends: Z-A from The Pokémon Company / Nintendo received a Double Platinum award, which is given for sales of over 400,000 units. Three Platinum Awards, recognising sales of over 200,000, went to Donkey Kong Bananza (Nintendo), Ghost of Yōtei (Sony Interactive Entertainment) and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered (Bethesda). The Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 bundle celebrated a sales success with over 100,000 copies sold, thus earning a Gold Award.
