There was no miracle to save the company: Threaks layed off all 25 employees at the end of January.

The miracle that should have happened to save the indie studio Threaks, which was facing closure, did not materialise. Threaks laid off all 25 employees from the company at the end of January 2024. This was revealed in a social media post by Engineering Manager Merve Meszaros.

Meszaros shared via LinkedIn in the course of a job search: "After a few weeks of uncertainty regarding the future of Threaks, it is with a mix of emotions that I share the news that everyone was laid off yesterday and I am now exploring new opportunities."

It was only in mid-January that Threaks announced its orderly withdrawal from the games market by the middle of the year, but left open the possibility of being rescued by an investment and reversing the decision.
