Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has announced a new global marketing campaign for PlayStation 5 starting this week in celebration of the upcoming five year anniversary of the console. It will be played out in more than 20 markets, including the U.S., U.K., Japan, Germany, France, Canada, and Australia. “It Happens on PS5” will air on TV and in cinemas, in outdoor marketing areas, on social media and digital platforms as well as in local activation events, the company says

Goal of the campaign is to “to provoke joy and excitement among the community and capture the emotions they feel when experiencing these unforgettable moments on PS5”, the announcement says

The ad campaign consists of three separate ad slots, themed around the “The Greatest Stunt Jump Ever”, “The Unexpected Catch” and “Everyday Problems in Extraordinary Vehicles”. 

For local events, SIE is teasing “UFOs landing in Australia, Spain & Germany or mysterious creatures found in Mexico, Italy & the UK.”
