Until the beginning of June, game developers in Hesse can apply for funding for game productions as part of the Hessen Serious Game funding programme. In previous years, over a quarter of a million euros were approved.

As usual, the new funding round will be handled by WI Bank, which has compiled all the information relating to the call for funding on its website. The Hessen Serious Game funding programme is primarily, but not exclusively, aimed at serious games. The funding itself is provided as De-minimis funding with the known limitations. In order for applications to be considered by the jury, they must be received by 2 June at the latest. The deadline, like the current deadlines for other funding programmes, can be found in our overview.

Participation in Hessen Serious Game has been worthwhile for numerous studios in recent years. In 2024, a total of €280,000 was approved for six games. In 2023 (German), €260,000 was awarded to seven projects.
