The aim of the "Stärker mit Games 2" initiative is to teach children and young people aged 9 and above about democratic principles and social participation on their own Minecraft server. The Dieter Baacke Prize is awarded by the Society for Media Education and Communication Culture (GMK) in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Education, Family, Seniors, Women, and Youth and is considered one of the most important media education awards in Germany.

"Winning the Dieter Baacke Prize is a great honor. Winning the most prestigious award in media education is not only recognition for the outstanding work done by everyone involved, but also an indication of the innovative media education projects that are possible with and in games, which are close to the reality of children's and young people's lives," says Nandita Wegehaupt, Managing Director of the Digital Game Culture Foundation. "Games open up new opportunities for participation and, thanks to their interactivity, can convey unique perspectives – especially in areas where access to education is often lacking. This is not only fun, but also promotes genuine equality of opportunity."
