In an initial cooperation, Quebec and NRW met up at the first Indie Reveal during gamescom to show indie games in a cinema before publishers. The event was co-organised by NRW and Quebec funding organisations as well as Indie Hub and Indie Asylum.

On the occasion of gamescom in Cologne, regions that are invested in game development did more than present themselves in the business area. Instead, they took the chance for cooperations, specifically in the case of gamescom's home region Northrhine-Westphalia (NRW) and global powerhouse Quebec in Canada. Dubbed the Indie Reveal, the two regions came together on Wednesday, 20 August in a Cologne cinema to present games from both areas in front of publishers and guests from the industry.

Around 150 guests and twelve publishers attended this first Indie Reveal. Between trailer blocks, speakers from all the cooperation shared their expertise. The speakers and partners were Geneviève Rolland from the Québec Government Office in Munich, Till Hardy of Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, Émilien Roscanu of La Guilde du Jeu Vidéo du Québec, Pierre Moisan of CEIM, Mariève Beauchemin of Indie Asylum and Stefan Schmidt of Indie Hub.

Stefan Schmidt, co-founder and managing director of Indie Hub: “We are very happy with how the event went and with the collaboration. A big thank you to all the studios, publishers, partners, and guests who made this evening possible.”
