On 20 and 21 June, the Haus des Dokumentarfilms invites to the renowned industry get-together ‘Dokville’ to reflect on the topic of WAR AND DES:INFORMATION in panels on documentary long-form formats, docu-series and games interfaces. This year the AngeDokt special will talk about the documentary "Spiel um Millionen" by Tim Schreder on the "Dota 2" tournament "The International".

On 20 and 21 June, the Haus des Dokumentarfilms in Stuttgart will host the annual industry get-together ‘Dokville’. In light of growing conflicts, the 2024 programme will reflect on the topic of ‘WAR AND DES:INFORMATION’, whereby the focus will not be exclusively on the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East. Discussions of high-calibre documentary feature-length formats and current documentary series will take place as part of various panels.

In this regard, the current format AngeDOKt will also deal with interfaces to the games sector. The format will include the documentary "Spiel um Millionen" by Tim Schreder on the "Dota 2" tournament "The International".

The effort is not the first time that DokFest featured games. Last year, Elena Schilling, author, director and freelance media artist from Stuttgart, had presented her game Comfortzone. The interactive game, which is based on testimonies from contemporary witnesses and true events, takes players back to the time before and during the Holocaust. Furthermore, Creative director and producer Yaar Harell was the protagonist of the cinema documentary Endlich Tacheles.
